Jeff Weese

Jeffrey Guy Weese was Born July 10 1963 in Peterborough Ontario Canada, He grew up in Nepean and Big Gull Lake where he started drawing at a very young age. At age 10, his mother enrolled him in oil painting classes where he showed a natural talent and excelled. The influence of his mother who was an accomplished artist in her own right, and his father who was a Cinematographer for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation were instrumental in his development as an Artist. After graduating from High School, he was accepted into the Fine Arts Program of St. Lawrence College (Kingston, Ontario) in 1983. Classes in sculpture, painting, photography with an emphasis on Waterolor Art were the priority of his curriculum while in school for Fine Arts. After graduation he was hired as a Layout Artist for Crawley Films; an Animation Studio in Ottawa, notably working on such projects as “Teddy Ruxpin”, “Dennis the Menace”, “Cops” and “The Racoons”!
As time went on Jeff developed a love for landscape and wild life painting, achieving a measure of success depicting scenes of his beloved Canada. Jeff decided to go back to school and was accepted into the Graphic Design Program of St. Lawrence College (1997-2000) graduating with honors. Moving to South Carolina in 2000 he was hired as a Graphic Designer by Shakespeare® Fishing Tackle Company currently “Pure Fishing®.” where for the last 14 years he has been granted the honor of painting various fish species for the PENN® Product Catalogue cover art.

He is a resident of West Columbia where he paints scenes of the lowcountry and beaches of South Carolina. Known for his attention to detail and realistic representation of the natural world he has become the premier artist selling paintings in the United States and internationaly. As The Senior Graphic Designer, he has been employed by Pure Fishing®. for the last 23 years.
