Artist’s Call
Call for student artists (age 6-17) for our Paint Out (Plein Air) competition in Camden, SC, October 5th, 8 am – 12 pm. Be inspired by the beauty of Camden South Carolina, known for its quaint parks, historic sites and buildings. Purchase a ticket by Sept 30 for the early bird rate of $10. The fee increases to $15 Oct 1.
This is a juried event. Our judges include Stephanie Dabbs and Rob and Karen Brown. Stephanie is the owner of the Rooster Trot and teaches elementary school in Kershaw County for the past 30 years. Rob and Karen Brown have invested in our iconic downtown through the renovation of several buildings on Broad Street. Rob spent time in Disney with Construction. Karen served as a special needs teacher.
Plein Air in Camden, SC
The park at Broad Street and Rutledge Street is the designated location for the painting event. All supplies will be provided for students. Our plein air event encourages student artists to capture Camden’s historic elegance on canvas and kindles the student’s passion for creating something beautiful.
1st, 2nd and 3rd awards will be awarded.
After the event, the student’s art is displayed on a gallery wall at Camden Art Shoppes during the week of the MAD festival.
