Pine Needle Basketry Class with Janice
June 12 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm$50.00
Pine Needle Basketry is an old skill that has again become popular with fine crafters in recent years. South Carolina is a great place for pine needle basketry, as we are right in the middle of the Southeast’s belt of longneedle pines.
Janice Phillips has been making pine needle baskets for nearly 5 years, adding artistic vision and whimsy to her skilled work. She will be teaching a 4-hour basic pine needle basketry class on June 12 from 10a-3p at the Camden Art Shoppes at 1011 Broad Street, Camden, SC. Time will be provided for students to get their own lunch. $50/person includes all supplies needed to make your basket.

· Harvesting needles
· Drying needles
· Needle prep: washing, glycerin and dying
· Wet v. dry
· Pre-made vs. coil centers
