Hi! As a child, I loved camping with my family. Nature was always fascinating to me, both in the landscape and light itself, but in the patterns created by "the little things" such as the veins in a leaf or the patterns and colors of bark. As an Art Eduactor, I liked to explore different media to experiment with natural patterns and the landscape around us.

Debra Sue Woodyard Gerhold Shively.
I was born January 25, 1958 in Parkersburg, WV. I attended Wood County Schools in WV, before I began college at Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio. I graduated with a BA in Art Education and a Master of Arts in Liberal Learning.
Art Education was my career for 33 years, and included 11 years Elementary Art, 17 years Junior High Art and 5 in High School Art (my favorite!) Also, I was a Lecturer in Art Education in the evening school at Marietta College for 11 years.
In 2019, fate brought my husband, John and me to Manning, SC where we live. We are so grateful to be in such a wonderful community and State.
