Artist’s Call

Call for Artists for our third Plein Air competition in Camden, SC, April 4th 8 am – 7 pm.  Be inspired by the beauty of Camden South Carolina, known for its quaint parks, historic sites and buildings.  Purchase a ticket by 3/15/26 for the early bird rate of $35. The fee increases to $45 Sept 2nd.

This is a juried event. Judges will be announced soon.

About: Plein Air in Camden, SC

Artists bring a blank canvas between 8 am – 10 am to Camden Art Shoppes at 1011 Broad Street, Camden SC.  The coordinator or designee stamps the blank canvas to qualify the artist for the event.

Artists return with a completed painting and easel to Camden Art Shoppes at 3:00 pm. The art is displayed on the river at 1011 Galleria (1011 Broad Street) and is judged at 4:00.

Awards will be announced at a reception the same day from 5-7 and hosted by the Camden Artists Guild of SC . The reception will have complimentary wine and hors d’oeuvres.

Camden Art Shoppes, LLC

Camden Art Shoppes is sponsoring the plein air event led by Sharon Funderburk. Your art will be on display in the Elevator Gallery for an extended time (exact exhibit dates to be announced soon).  If a customer wants to purchase your painting while displayed in Camden, the sale must go through Camden Art Shoppes.  Camden Art Shoppes will receive 15% of the sale.  If you have any questions, contact sharonfunderburk@yahoo.com.
